Sri Lanka were demolished for a paltry score of 43 in yesterday’s First ODI at the Boland Park in Paarl. Morne Morkel and Lonwabo Tsotsobe put the Lankans on the mat by taking wickets in a hurry with the new balls. Sri Lanka towards the end just managed to avoid creating a new lowest ever total in ODI history. However, Sri Lanka couldn’t get past their previous lowest ODI score which was 55 against the West Indies in 1986 at Sharjah.

South Africa having posted 301 for 8 in yesterday’s First ODI at Paarl thanks to Hashim Amla’s 9th ODI century recorded a massive 258-run victory as the Sri Lankans collapsed to 43 all out. This South African win is the third largest margin of victory by runs in the history of ODI Cricket.
