Hardik Pandya was the unlikely hero as his maiden five-for ensured India took complete control of the Trent Bridge Test after bowling England out for 161. India ended the day on 124 for 2, with a lead of 292.

Speaking about his wonderful bowling performance, Pandya was quoted as saying in a BBC report, "I don't want to be Kapil Dev. Let me be Hardik Pandya. I'm good at being Hardik Pandya."

He added: "I've played 40 one-day internationals and now 10 Tests as Hardik Pandya. He was a great of his era, but stop comparing me to Kapil Dev. I would be happy if you don't."

Pandya went into the Test under pressure, with West Indies legend Michael Holding stating Pandya was not a genuine Test all-rounder.

On the criticism, Pandya explained, "I don't care what they say. I play for my country, I am doing the right thing and my team is happy with me - nothing else matters."
