During the course of his century on day one of the Galle Test against Bangladesh, former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara equaled fellow countryman Mahela Jayawardene’s record of 31 Test tons. More significantly, he entered the list of top ten Test run-getters, dislodging the legendary Indian Sunil Gavaskar from the slot. Gavaskar was the first player in the world to cross the 10,000 run mark and had been in the coveted top ten list for well over 30 years. Here’s a look at the latest list of top ten run getters in world cricket.
